We only collect what we need to look after your pets and organise the visit:

• Contact details you give us when you book or create an account: your name, email address, and phone number, including the mobile number you provide when you opt in to text messages.
• Service details: the address where care is provided, your dates and preferred times, the service you chose, and any notes you add for our sitters.
• Pet information: your pet's name, species, breed, age, weight, feeding and medication instructions, temperament, and any vaccination or preventative-care certifications you complete.
• Account information: if you create an account, your name, email address, and the pet profiles you save in your client portal.
• Booking and payment records: what was booked, what it cost, and whether it has been paid.
• Photos you share with us, and the visit summaries our sitters write after each visit.

Payment information

Payments are processed by Base44 Payments (powered by Wix). Your card or bank details are entered on the payment provider's secure checkout page, not on this website, and we never see or store your full card number. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, the amount, and the contact email used for the purchase, and we keep that with your booking record.

How we use your information

• To confirm, schedule, and deliver the services you request.
• To send booking confirmations, visit updates, and invoices.
• To keep your pet's care instructions, including vaccination requirements, available to the sitter looking after them.
• To keep our own records of what was booked, delivered, and paid.
• To answer the questions you send us, and occasionally to share a seasonal offer with clients who have booked before.
• To send the text messages you opted in to, such as appointment reminders, visit updates, payment and order alerts, and account notifications, as described in our SMS Terms of Service below.

Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we never share your text message opt-in data or consent with third parties or affiliates. We share personal information only with the service providers that make the booking and care possible:

• Our payment provider, to take payment for your booking.
• The email, calendar, and text messaging tools we use to send your confirmation, keep your visit on our schedule, and deliver the text messages you opted in to.
• Our own sitters, who need your address, pet care instructions, and a contact number to provide the service.

Text message opt-in and consent

When you give us your mobile number and opt in to text messages on our booking form, in your client portal, or through another medium, you consent to receive SMS messages from Trusted Tails Pet Care at that number. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, or reply HELP for assistance.

Your SMS opt-in data and consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers, text message opt-in data, or consent for any third-party or affiliate marketing, and no other company may send messages to you using information collected through our text messaging program.

We share this information only with the messaging providers that transmit our texts on our behalf, and only to deliver the messages you agreed to receive. The full details of what you can expect are in the SMS Terms of Service below.

Cookies and sign-in sessions

We use the cookies and local storage needed for the site to work, mainly to keep you signed in to your client portal. We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to ad networks.

How long we keep your information

We keep booking, payment, and pet care records for as long as we need them to run the business, meet our accounting obligations, and provide continuity of care for returning clients. If you ask us to delete your information, we will remove what we are not required to keep.

Security

Your information is stored in our booking system and is only visible to you, our sitters, and the business owner. Access to client records requires a signed-in account. Payment card details never reach our systems.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, or delete your account and records. Just email us and we will take care of it. You can also ask us to stop sending you seasonal offers at any time; booking confirmations and visit updates are part of the service and will still be sent.

Children's privacy

Our services are arranged by adults, and this website is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Terms & Conditions

These terms apply when you use this website, create an account, or request a service from us. By booking, you agree to them and to the Privacy Policy on this page.

• Booking requests: a request is not a confirmed booking until we accept it and payment is complete. We may decline or reschedule a visit when our availability or your pet's needs require it.
• Your details: please give us accurate contact details, the correct service address, and complete care instructions, and tell us about anything that affects your pet's care.
• Vaccination requirements: for in-home sitting, boarding, dog walking, and wash & brush services, your pet's vaccinations, heartworm, and flea & tick preventatives must be certified up to date before the booking can be confirmed.
• Payments: services are paid through our secure checkout, which is processed by Base44 Payments. The amount due is shown before you pay, and your booking is confirmed once payment completes.
• Caring for your pets: please tell us in advance about any biting, aggression, illness, or injury so we can plan the visit safely.
• Text messages: by giving us your mobile number and opting in, you agree to receive the service messages described in the SMS Terms of Service below. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP.

Governing law

These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of the services we provide, are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any legal action relating to these terms or to our services must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Virginia.
